# Fourwall Arabic localization notes (ar-SA)

Companion to `ar-copy.json` (484 EN/AR pairs across common, home, home_preview, operations, advisory, agents, how_it_works, about, contact, app_js). Source: live English v8 at https://fourwall.app plus the lab/home-preview hero captions. Guardrails: `projects/fourwall-proposition/legal-lingo.md`.

Register: clear Modern Standard Arabic with Saudi business idiom (فريقك، الفروع، المنيو، الكاش، الإقفال، تطبيقات التوصيل). Second person singular masculine ("أنظمتك. فريقك. اعتمادك.") because the site speaks to the owner directly; plural "بحساباتكم أنتم" is used only where the English stresses "your own logins" to the company. Owner quotes in the problem section use light Najdi speech on purpose («وش الناقص إلى الآن؟» / «هل أقدر أغطي الرواتب...») because they are quoted speech, not Fourwall's voice. Everything else is written Arabic. No em dashes anywhere; Western digits throughout; currency as ر.س after figures, ريال in prose.

## Recommendations (decide once, apply everywhere)

### Tagline "Every riyal matched."
1. **كل ريال في مكانه.** (recommended) Four words, rhythmic, visual: the hero animation literally moves riyals into place. "Matched" in the accounting sense is implied, not claimed, so it stays on the safe side of the SOCPA line.
2. **كل ريال له حساب.** Memorable double meaning (every riyal is accounted for / has an account). Downside: "حساب" edges toward accounting language and reads slightly like a threat idiom ("له حساب" = will be held to account).
3. **ولا ريال ضايع.** Punchy, pure Saudi street register ("not a single riyal lost"). Great for a WhatsApp campaign; a little too casual next to "Advisory" and the legal footer, and it promises an outcome.

Use option 1 on the site. Keep 2 and 3 for social/ads.

### Endorsement line "A member of Accord Partners"
**عضو في Accord Partners** (recommended). Mirrors the CEO's English choice exactly, is the form Saudi group companies use on letterheads ("عضو في مجموعة ..."), and keeps the brand in Latin per the brand rule. "إحدى شركات أكورد بارتنرز" sounds like a subsidiary and transliterates the brand, which the brand rule forbids. If an all-Arabic context ever needs it (voice, print without Latin), use "عضو في أكورد بارتنرز".

### Pillar names
- Fourwall Operations -> **Fourwall للعمليات**
- Fourwall Advisory -> **Fourwall للاستشارات**

Brand stays Latin, descriptor in Arabic, which is how Saudi SaaS brands label product lines (e.g. "Foodics للمحاسبة"). Rejected: "فوروول للعمليات" (breaks the Latin-brand rule; legal-lingo.md used "فورول" but that was pre-brand-rule) and "عمليات Fourwall" (reads as "Fourwall's operations department"). In running Arabic text, "Fourwall" is used as a masculine noun: "Fourwall يعطيك الاثنين".

### Core CTA "Book a Data & Close Diagnostic"
**احجز تشخيص البيانات والإقفال**. "تشخيص" is the word Saudi consultants use for a diagnostic engagement; "الإقفال" (month-end close) is standard finance-team vocabulary in the Kingdom. Not "فحص" (sounds medical/audit) and not "مراجعة" (audit term).

## Agent names (12 + 8)

(Growth Case).

## Deliberate departures from the English

1. **"AI agents in your back office, every day."** -> "وكلاء ذكاء اصطناعي يشتغلون مع فريقك المالي، كل يوم." No Saudi owner says "المكتب الخلفي"; "back office" literally is a translation. "مع فريقك المالي" also reinforces the legal line (agents assist the client's team).
2. **"Bookkeeping Agent"** -> "وكيل تسجيل العمليات" not "وكيل مسك الدفاتر". The brief bans anything that implies "نمسك دفاتركم"; the description ("يسجّل ... للاعتماد") carries the meaning.
3. **"AI review of the ledger"** -> "فحص بالذكاء الاصطناعي". "مراجعة" is the statutory word for audit in Saudi Arabia, so it is avoided when the actor is the software. It is kept where the actor is the client's team ("المراجعة والاعتماد", "مراجعة المالك").
4. **"Revenue assurance"** -> "حماية الإيرادات". "تأكيد/توكيد" is assurance-engagement language.
5. **"Senior advice for the owner."** -> "استشارات خبراء لصاحب المطعم." "كبار" alone sounds like age; "owner" rendered as "صاحب المطعم", the natural Saudi phrase, rather than "المالك" in headline position (المالك is used in body copy and report names).
6. **"The owner is deciding blind."** -> "والمالك يقرر بلا أرقام." "Blind" idioms in Arabic (على العمياني) are too colloquial; "بلا أرقام" lands the same point.
7. **"Pillars" (footer heading)** -> "الخدمات". "الركائز" is understood but nobody navigates by it; "الخدمات" is what the footer column actually lists.
8. **"Daily flash"** -> "ملخص اليوم". No Arabic reader would parse "فلاش".
9. **"Hire roles, not headcount."** -> "وظّف أدوارًا، لا موظفين." "Headcount" has no idiomatic Arabic; "موظفين" is the contrast owners feel.
10. **"Four-wall results"** -> "ربح الفرع الصافي قبل مصاريف المركز الرئيسي". The term is explained rather than transliterated; the brand name Fourwall stays Latin so the pun is lost in Arabic, which is acceptable.
11. **"21+" / "2–5"** branch options -> "21 أو أكثر" / "2 إلى 5". The en dash reads badly in RTL; "إلى" is cleaner in a select.
12. **"{n} agents shown"** -> "عدد الوكلاء المعروضين: {n}". Arabic plural agreement with a variable number is messy; the noun-first form works for any n.
13. **"Please enter {field}."** -> "يرجى إدخال {field}." The JS lowercases the English label; in Arabic insert the label unchanged.
14. **Owner quotes** use light dialect on purpose (see register note). If the CEO prefers full MSA: «ما الذي لا يزال ناقصًا؟» / «هل الأرقام متطابقة؟» / «هل سأغطي الرواتب والإيجار والضريبة؟».
15. **"Advisory retainer"** -> "عقد الاستشارات الشهري". Added "الشهري" because that is how Saudi firms sell retainers; the description still says "شهريًا أو لكل دراسة".
16. **"Owner pack" / "The full weekly finance report"** -> "ملف المالك الأسبوعي" / "تقرير الأداء الأسبوعي الكامل". "تقرير مالي" edges toward prepared financial statements (legal-lingo row 15); "تقرير الأداء" is management reporting.
17. **Legal disclaimer**: "review" rendered as "الفحص" and "audit" as "المراجعة" to match Saudi statutory usage (SOCPA licenses مراجعين قانونيين; a review engagement is فحص محدود). "Licensed public accounting firm" -> "مكتب محاسبة ومراجعة مرخّص" so both licensed activities are explicitly disclaimed. Everything else is one-to-one. Still needs Saudi counsel sign-off per legal-lingo.md.

## Self-review pass (as a Riyadh owner reading it)

Changed after the read-aloud: "يراجعون" -> "يطابقون" in the hero (audit word and weaker verb); "المكتب الخلفي" -> "مع فريقك المالي"; "تروح السيولة" -> "تذهب السيولة" (dialect slipped into Fourwall's voice); "حزمة المالك" -> "ملف المالك"; "الميزانية" -> "الموازنة" (owners hear "balance sheet"); "تقارير مالية لحظية"-style phrasing avoided everywhere; "بالنيابة عنكم" never appears (legal-lingo row 14); every agent description keeps the software or the client's team as the actor.

## Open items for the CEO

- Confirm tagline option 1 (كل ريال في مكانه.).
- Confirm "Fourwall للعمليات / Fourwall للاستشارات" vs an all-Arabic transliteration for print.
- Confirm dialect in the two owner quotes (MSA alternatives provided in departure 14).
- Saudi counsel to confirm the Arabic disclaimer wording (legal-lingo.md open item).
- `hello@fourwall.app` is still marked CONFIRM in the source; unchanged here.
- Malik change 4 Nov: how-it-works step line «اربط. طابق. راجع. اعتمد.» -> «اربط. طابق. جهّز. اعتمد.» (avoid audit verb راجع).
